iOS 16 is Now Available to iPhone Users in India: Here is How to Download, Eligible iPhones, and Features.

Apple has begun distributing iOS 16 to iPhones. Users in India can also get the update; to see if it’s available, navigate to Settings’ Software update section. The biggest overhaul to the lock screen ever is included in iOS 16, along with new tools in Mail, the ability to edit and contribute in Messages, and more ways to interact with images and video thanks to Live Text and Visual Look Up. Following its presentation at WWDC in June 2022, the software iteration was made beta-ready for testers in the public and developer communities.

iPhones Eligible for iOS 16:

The iPhone 8 series, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11 series, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone SE (2020), and iPhone SE will all receive iOS 16 when it launches (2022).

iOS 16 will be preinstalled on the new iPhone 14 series, which consists of the iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro Max.

iOS 16 Features:

  • Now, iPhone users can smoothly switch. The wallpaper can also be personalized using easy swipe movements.
  • Users of iOS 16 can add filters such Duo-Tone, Colour Wash, Black and White, and Natural, as well as modify the tone.
  • Additionally, users can now access notifications by swiping from the bottom to the top of the lock screen, where they will now show.
  • iMessage users have the option to amend and revoke messages. According to Apple, users may change a message for up to 15 minutes following its sending and may retract a message for up to 2 minutes. A message may receive up to five modifications, and the receivers will be able to view a history of those edits.
  • With the release of iOS 16, the Live Text feature gets updated. Now throughout the system, Live Text is able to recognize text in videos.
  • Any frame of a video can be paused to allow viewers to interact with text and do rapid actions like copying and pasting, translating, changing the currency, and more.
  • Apple is introducing a new security feature on iPhones dubbed Lockdown mode. The objective is to protect against spyware like Pegasus. It will be found in the Settings and Privacy tab.
